It was such an honor to get an chance to visit Federal Reserve Bank in June 25, especially for me, a girl major in accounting and hoping to work in bank after graduate from university. The bank is so famous that I heard this bank for many times even in Chinese news-- FRB raise or lower the interest rate, FRB publish a new proposal... People also called is Central Bank because it protect the stability of bank system and effect the interest rate of other banks in order to control the inflation.
As I learnt in Macro-economics, inflation is very bad. When there is an inflation, goods and services' price increase, consumers buy less things, supply will over demand, so firms started to fire people which increase the unemployment rate. Like the economic crises in 2008 made people's life worse off. One of Federal Reserve Bank's duty is to avoid this situation and save market when unlucky things happened.So we can see it is really important.
It sounds really cool. That is a really triditional building and I love it.
