On June 25th, I visited the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. "The Boston Federal Reserve Bank, one of the 12 Reserve Banks located in major cities throughout the country, destroys about 10 million worth of worn-out currency every day. The original value of the currency in this sample depends on the denominations of the particular bills included."
I listened a presentation about the Federal Reserve Bank and some economic kownledge. The Federal Reserve Bank is the center bank of The United States. 12 Federal Reserve Banks were created in 1913. Recentralized Centrel Bank issues money but does not print money. Money is not backed by gold or silver independent with in the governmetn money policy. If government put too much money, there is an inflation; if government put not enough money, there is a recession. And I also learned something about payment system and bnak regilation and supervision.
In a word, I learned from this trip and presentation a lot. Now, I have a better understanding about The Federal Reserve Bank, it was enjoyable and interesting.
