Feelings Towards Friday's Freedom Trail

This Friday, we went to twelve famous historical sites in Boston which are the Boston Common, Parker Street Church, Granary Burying Ground, King's Chapel and King's Chapel Burying Ground, Boston Latin School, the Old South Meeting House, the Boston Massacre, The Old State House, Faneuil Hall, Paul Revere's House, the Old North Church, and Copp's Hill. They are oldest monuments in Boston, none of them were built after 19th century. I felt the vicissitudes of history in these places.

Initially, I didn't feel their old because I had already saw so many ancient antiques in the Boston Museum and in China, compared with those ancient objects, these sites are too young. However, when the amount of sites that I visited was increasing, I started to feel the true value of these great buildings and the reason why we have to visit them.

Their is no doubt that history is an essential part of their values, another irreplaceable aspect is the spiritual values, they are vital because they remind people with special events and spirits. A typical example is the Old South Meeting House where the Boston Tea Party revolt started. I suppose that many of those sites we saw on Friday were not only well-known in MA, but also really famous all around the U.S.

There are two burying grounds among these sites which was very sad. In China, I once visited a burying ground that occupys seven hills which were extremely sorrow and gave me a shock.
