A Visit to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston

June 25th was still a hot day and this trip was the shortest one so far.

After we entered the building, there was a safety inspection. We put all carry-one stuffs in a basket and then place it on the conveyor.

I would thought we could have a visit in the building, but we just downstairs to a meeting room and had a presentation.

Actually, I got a lot from the presentation.

For example, there are 12 FRB in the US; one in the west coast, 6 in the middle and 5 in the east coast. The PPT used cartoon to explain some key points and to make the video more interesting because most of us are not familiar with the FRB. There are 3 basic responsibilities of FRB: Monetary Policy, Payment System and, Bank Regulation and Supervision.

Actually, money was printed in Washington D.C, FRB issues but not print money.

We also got a packet with worn-out currency at last. It was so interesting to have this one.
