Visit to Federal Reserve Bank
As I learnt in Macro-economics, inflation is very bad. When there is an inflation, goods and services' price increase, consumers buy less things, supply will over demand, so firms started to fire people which increase the unemployment rate. Like the economic crises in 2008 made people's life worse off. One of Federal Reserve Bank's duty is to avoid this situation and save market when unlucky things happened. So we can see it is really important.

Life in Boston
There were not too many culture shock things for me. Sometimes the food is a little bit awful, but this gives the reason that why my friends and I went to China Town. Especially for that hot pot restaurant! That is pretty cool. I really love it. That makes me feel something like "home".
Anyway, though I just be there for only less than three months, but it already became a place that I like and can get a lot of fun. I got new friends, they are all really cool and nice, hope we can have a great summer at there. Oh, actually, we have had it already.HA HA .

Suddenly we came up with an idea: how about make Chinese food by ourselves? Ha-ha, so we brought some pork ribs, fish balls, noodle and other condiments, and than went back home.
Firstly, we put those pork ribs into hot water for a while, after its color changed from red to gay and many bubbles appeared. Than poured the water and wash those bubbles. After that, put the p
ork ribs into hot water and than added some shallot and eight-angles (a kind of Chinese condiments). Finally, boiled the ribs for an hour and added some salt. The goluptious ribs were ready. And than cook the noodle was just a piece of cake. We poured the ribs and its soup into the cooked noodle and added some acrid condiments. Wow it was so delicious!!

Well, I do feel lucky that I have had the opportunity to visit one of the US Federal Bank—the Federal Reserve Bank of
During this visit I attended a presentation about the FED and the banking system of US. The FED plays a very important and indispensable role of the
The FED, in my understanding, is a kind of half-private institution. The theory of the FED is private but it also gives money to the Government per month. So it is not really completely private. In addition, I heard that the FED destroys 10 million dollars a day, because it is too old to use or it is not holistic. Moreover, the FED does not print money, instead they issue money. There is only one company that prints money.
In short, I think that I learned something during this trip. Again I am looking forward to the next field trip. Hopefully, it will be more fun.
life in boston

Last week . I was very happy .
A visit to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston
It is near Chinatown, and we went to their by subway. When we went into the building, I was supriesed that the lobby was so big. And we must go through a security check before we went in.
The staff member took us to a underground room.
Firstly, he showed us a video which had a breif introduction of the Federal Reserve Bank. The bank was establishen in Washington, D. C. in 1913. It is the central bank of the USA; however, to my suprise, it is a totally private bank. In the USA, there are twelve regional Federal Reserve Banks, located in major cities throughoutthe nation.
I learned lots of that afternoon, I hope we could have more trips like this.

American Life
In this Friday, we went to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. That is a very great bank in Boston. And we have a presentation in this building of the bank. This presentation is very good. However, I am so sorry about this presentation, because I don’t understand all of this American Federal Reserve System. I just know something about this system. For example, 3 parts of Federal Reserve System: 1.Monetary Policy, 2.Payment System, 3.Bank Regulation and Supervision. And the Inflation and Deflation are very interesting. Next, we just learned how to judge the money, to make it is counterfeit or real. At last everyone got the one cup of fragments of American dollar. That is a very nice gift.
Probably this trip is a little bit boring for the engineer student. However I also learned something in this trip. Something is better than nothing. Ok, let’s look forward the next week’s trip.
Visit the Federal Reserve Banks
We went to there by subway, and after some safety-check, we success to enter the Bank.
It is really a big bank, which I have not saw before. We followed a staff and walk a not very short way. Finally, we entered a lecture room and start the introudction of Bank.
This is a big Bank in America like Bank of China, it is responsibility to Monetany Policy, payment system and Bank regulation and supervision. There are about 4trillion dollar electronic payment daily, including 500 billion overseas and 250 billion in US. How large the number. I was so surprise.
After this visit, I learned more about US bank system. It is really a good day.
the Feelings Towards Friday's Trip
I think the best part of his speech is teaching us how to distinct real and counterfeit money. I believe this would help us a lot in our future life in America. For short, I think this trail to the bank is very worth opportunity for us to acquire knowledge and technique in the field of managing our property and it reminded us to be aware of false money.
However, the defect of Friday's trp to this bak was that we only heard a presentation and nothing more. Despite the fact that this presentation is very valuable and useful for us, I think it will be better if we could have more communication and interaction with people there.
Federal Reserve Bank in Boston
the visit of Federal Reserve Bank of Boston
In the June 25th, we had a visit about the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. It is a big famous bank in the boston. There are 12 FRB in the US; the one in the west coast, the 6 are in the middle and the other 5 are in the east coast.
After we enter the bank. A people give us a speech in the bank at -1 floor, it is about the history of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. the speech was very interesting and told us many knowledgw about the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, we know that the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is very important of the u.s.
At the 3 c'clock, the visit was finished. we have a good day about this.
A Visit to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston
After we entered the building, there was a safety inspection. We put all carry-one stuffs in a basket and then place it on the conveyor.
I would thought we could have a visit in the building, but we just downstairs to a meeting room and had a presentation.
Actually, I got a lot from the presentation.
For example, there are 12 FRB in the US; one in the west coast, 6 in the middle and 5 in the east coast. The PPT used cartoon to explain some key points and to make the video more interesting because most of us are not familiar with the FRB. There are 3 basic responsibilities of FRB: Monetary Policy, Payment System and, Bank Regulation and Supervision.
Actually, money was printed in Washington D.C, FRB issues but not print money.
We also got a packet with worn-out currency at last. It was so interesting to have this one.
When i listen the music of Pipa, i will remind my childhood. When i was a child, my parents sent me to learn many things, for example, dancing, gymnastics, drawing, writting, playing Pipa, etc. Before, i thounght i was a tragedy, but now i think "learning more, fun more." Now, I appreciate my parents. In my opinion, as human being, we need something to miss. It is our life. When we have joys and sorrows, we can enjoy it rather than worry about it. Thank you.

Federal Reserve Bank of Boston

Federal Reserve Bank of Boston
I listened a presentation about the Federal Reserve Bank and some economic kownledge. The Federal Reserve Bank is the center bank of The United States. 12 Federal Reserve Banks were created in 1913. Recentralized Centrel Bank issues money but does not print money. Money is not backed by gold or silver independent with in the governmetn money policy. If government put too much money, there is an inflation; if government put not enough money, there is a recession. And I also learned something about payment system and bnak regilation and supervision.
In a word, I learned from this trip and presentation a lot. Now, I have a better understanding about The Federal Reserve Bank, it was enjoyable and interesting.

American life 3
Yesterday, we went to the downtown to visit so many famous historic and cultural sites. There are so many interesting places, and now, I will talk about our presenting place first. My partner and I talked about the Boston Massacre. This is an old house to commemorate 9 persons who against the violence and injustice. This is a sad thing, but these brave persons represent one spirit of America. I think this spirit is brave, against the violence, protect people’s right, and for the freedom. So these persons were great, they represent the American people’s spirit. We will memorize their contribution, they used their live to protect American justice, and they taught us, don’t afraid the violence and the power, we all have the same rights.
In that Friday, we also went to the other famous places, such as Park Street Church, The Old State House, Paul Revere’s House, and some other places. All the things are great and wonderful, they represent the Boston’s history, and they will have a great influence to young people, tell the truth and history, let all the people remember the history, do not forget it.
I think this a very nice day for me, maybe a little tired, but all the things are very wonderful. And now, I have a great longing for a the next week trip. However, I hope the place as near as better, I don’t like walking so far.
WEEK 3 Blog
Oh my Lady Gaga! Thi
s week is so bad for me. I have too much homework to do. I stayed up late for three days and got up very early to print my essay but using wrong computers and than I was late for school. At the afternoon of that day, I fell asleep in the Economics quiz. And I lost my key to the dorm. I paid more money for the shots without knowing why. My cellphone was out of service.
I miss my girlfriend very much and she misses me too. But because she misses me too much, she became angry with me. Do not worry anymore honey. I will go back to marry you!
The last
melancholy thing is that because the physics lab took me too much time. I did not catch up with my team to the Freedom Trail. When I finally met them I had missed three destinations. Fortunately, I did not miss the rest of them. And I still remember that there is a Chinese restaurant in Quincy Market. The food in there is much more delicious than in
third week in the US
Tirp to the Kennedy Museum
As I mentioned in the blog 1 about the trip to the Kennedy Museum/Liberty that I really looked forward, and I felt satisfied that it did not disappointed me at all.
The
Every field trip would bring us something new to our life experience which to me is very valuable and I really enjoyed it. That is why I ma looking forward to the next filed trip.
Feelings Towards Friday's Freedom Trail
Initially, I didn't feel their old because I had already saw so many ancient antiques in the Boston Museum and in China, compared with those ancient objects, these sites are too young. However, when the amount of sites that I visited was increasing, I started to feel the true value of these great buildings and the reason why we have to visit them.
Their is no doubt that history is an essential part of their values, another irreplaceable aspect is the spiritual values, they are vital because they remind people with special events and spirits. A typical example is the Old South Meeting House where the Boston Tea Party revolt started. I suppose that many of those sites we saw on Friday were not only well-known in MA, but also really famous all around the U.S.
There are two burying grounds among these sites which was very sad. In China, I once visited a burying ground that occupys seven hills which were extremely sorrow and gave me a shock.
My Freedom Trail
Although it was quite hot in friday, it still felt so funny to wandering in the old streets and explore Boston's history. The most impressed building is the Old City Hall and the Faneuil hall.
Freedom trip *
Before we going, every two people prepare to introduce one place of Freedom Trail. My assignment is King's Chapel. King's Chapel is designed by Peter Harrison, its purpose is to make sure that church is appear in America, it is located at corner of school and Tremont street in Boston downtown. As you know King's chapel is the oldest burying place in Boston. Many famous person burying here, including the first leader John winthrop and Mary Chilton, who is the first woman to leave to mayflower.
We start from The Boston Common, then went to Park street church and other places. Although it is a hot day, but all of us have full of energy. We walk alone the Red brick and found the building one by one, we took photo and have fun each other. It is really a good day for me. Thanks for the Freedom trail.
Freedom Trail

Last friday, I had a trail to the oldest public school of the Boston. Because the physics lab in the afternoon, so we had the trail in the morning. This school is the Boston Latin School, which founded on April 13, 1635. It is a school which has a long history. One of the most famous president, Franklin was study in this school. And there has a statue of Franklin in the Latin School. This statue was sculpted by Richard Saltonstall Greenough in 1856, it is in front of the building of the school.
The weather was so hot, so we were very exhauste. Because of the lab, so we must went to school to prepareed the class. So we finished the trail at lunch time.
combine the antiauity and modern.
the Freedom Trail

My presentation is about a the Boston Common's history and function. I feel comfortable when I saw this park that was built on downtown. Boston Common continues to be a stage for free speech and public assembly. It also a place for celebration as well. Today the common hosts several citywide festicals and performances throughout the year. It is still open for all to enjoy.
The most impressive buliding is about a statue that is a famous people who called Samuel Adams. He was a statesment, and one of the founding fathers of the United States. Adams is a leaders of movement that become the American revolution. He was born in Boston, as a politician, every citizen love him very much. because of weather is hot, I don't have enough time to learn all his life. But the Freedom trail is really meanful activity for me.
Freedom Trail
This Friday was a busy day because of the physics lab and the freedom trail. Unfortunately, I had the lab in the morning so I missed our group. I had to go to the Parker Street with some of my friends by taking the green-line subway. Actually, this was the first time that I took the green-line and I found that we could use Charlie card, cash, or credit card to get on the subway. When we arrived at the Boston Common, I found there was a big bell tower. It was so beautiful because I had never seen bell towers before, and it seemed kind of different from what I thought it would be.

However, today was so hot that we couldn’t finish our trip. We took a break after a while. There were so many people that seemed to celebrate something.

Some special for this trip was that we had presentations during the trip. We were our own guides! In this trip, I like the Granary Burying Ground most. I thought the tomb must be scary and eeriness; whereas it was so beautiful; I was not sure that this word is fit or not.

Today was both exhausted and meaningful to visit the frontier heritage.

freedom trail

On June 18, I joined the freedom trail. I closely looked at some churches, the first public school, Boston Commence, Paul Revere's House and several other fascinating places. On this trip, we collected the information before starting visiting, and got good preparation for the presentations. We gave the presentations to classmates as we were guides for those famous places.
I like Pauls Revere's House best. In 1775, Paul Revere left his small wooden home in Boston North End and set out on a journey that would make him into a legend. Today that home is still standing at 19 North Square and has become a national historic landmark. It is downtown Boston's oldest building and one of remaining from an early era in the history of colonial America.
In my opinion, Paul Revere's house is a typical American house, which is very beautiful and attractive, historic; also let me have a better understanding of American cultures.

There are also many other school groups just like us go to this place as well.
We spent about an hour looking through all the great exhibits and I would definitely recommend this place to any visitor.

dose not surprise me is that most of the Americans are tall and strong! Oh, the really hard thing I am facing now is to open mouth here. Though I know what they are talking about, I can only say “oh yes, yes, of course, no, no.” I can also write essays well. Maybe I should get used to the ways that native speakers do.
