Although it was quite hot in friday, it still felt so funny to wandering in the old streets and explore Boston's history. The most impressed building is the Old City Hall and the Faneuil hall.
Apart from the history value of the Od City Hall, the environment of the building is really attractive. It feels very good to see a white, tradition building surrounded by so many trees. There were squirrels running in the lawn. It was very natural. People feel politics is public in the US not untouchable.
Faneuil hall has served as a marketplace and meeting hall since 1742 and it is still flourish.
There are many food stalls selling different and delicious food. What surprise me is that a building which is almost 300 years old can be in such good condition and useful. According to some data in website, the average lifetime of building in China is only 35 years old. Houses were teared down because of various reasons--the quality is bad, government want to build new buildings maybe just for higher GDP. It is regretful to see memorial things disappearing. I think protection and proper use of old building is important and it's worth learning from Boston. We can see a city's spirits and value from tradition buildings. So it must be good to pass a city's legacy on generation by generation, through protecting the historical remains.
exactly! that day is really hot, i cannot believe that people can be alive under such a horriable weather without any protecting like sunscream. moreover, i have identical feeling that ruin the old and classical building is a pity behavor, as we might lose the precious memorey.
